LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – A lucky single mother-of-three has had her dreams come true thanks to winning K50,000 in Zambeef Product’s 50Pin at 50 competition grand prize.

Nayoto Nkanza plans to use the windfall to help her children start tertiary education.

“I was very thankful because just the day before, my children and I were praying about something and expecting a miracle. I’m a very happy customer and grateful to Zambeef that it took the initiative to give back to the community,” she said.

Ms Nkanza’s winning ticket was drawn from entrants to the Zambeef draw throughout the country, having been selected as one of the preliminary winners of K200 of goodies during the company’s monthly competitions.

Ms Nkanza, who works as a personal assistant, with a passion for landscaping and interior décor. She is a self-confessed Zamsip fan, and as an aspiring farmer, she is an admirer of Zambeef.

“I am a fan of Zamsip,” she said when asked how she heard about the competition. “Once in while I buy Zamsip from Zamchick at Arcades shopping mall. And the lady at the till said: ‘Oh auntie we are running a competition, put your name on the receipt and enter’. I never thought I would win.”

When asked about her reaction to the win, she admitted that she was shocked but the initial surprise quickly gave way to excitement and joy.

“Winning the competition was an answer to a prayer as it came at just the right time. School fees have been a challenge, but this will definitely help towards the children’s education,” added Ms Nkanza, who has ensured her children have completed their high school education.

During the grand finale draw that was held at the Sunningdale in Kalinglinga, Lusaka, Zambeef brand ambassador Ngosa Chungu phoned Ms Nkanza to inform her that she had won the grand prize of K50,000, which was launched to celebrate Zambia’s 50th anniversary of Independence last year.

“Congratulations to Ms Nkanza. Zambeef’s popular K50 at 50 attracted an overwhelming response from our loyal customers and we pledge to continue providing them all with the best value and quality products,” said Zambeef Joint Chief Executive Officer Dr Carl Irwin.

Entrants for the completion were required to spend K35 or more at any of Zambeef’s 92 outlets, complete a customer feedback slip, attach it to their Zambeef receipt slip and post in the entry box at the shop. Each Zambeef receipt is equal to one entry, so customers could enter as many times as they wished.
