ZAMBEEF Chalala Macro opens to excited customers

New Macro offers Chalala residents convenient access to quality, and affordable meat and dairy products

LUSAKA, ZAMBIA – Excited customers flocked to the opening of Zambeef’s Chalala Macro in numbers to buy their favourite products at the newly opened outlet.

The outlet is the newest addition to Zambeef’s popular and growing network of Macro stores across the country and comes in the wake of the successful launch of its second transboundary store in Nakonde late last year.

“We are very excited with the developments within the retail division. The expansion of our retail network and footprint is in line with our strategic focus of increased production capacity across our Cold Chain Food Production facilities – all of which has been in response to increasing demand for affordable proteins from our customers,” said Zambeef Retail and Corporate Affairs Manager, Mr Felix Lupindula.

The Macro, located along Kasama Road, Chalala near Lusaka Apex University, will cater to customers residing in Kamwala south, Libala, Chawama East, Shantumbu, parts of Chilenje, and Lilayi among others.

“The progressive expansion of our retail business will ensure that Zambeef continues to play a leading role in providing food to a fast growing and urbanising population and Chalala, which is part of the newly designated Rockfield Township, is an illustration of this growth,” added Mr Lupindula.

Zambeef increased its retail footprint in 2017 by 28 per cent, successfully opening ten new Macro outlets in 2017 and all on premises owned by the food company. The new stores have been built with and fitted to specifications with the Group’s own construction, IT and refrigeration teams ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery of the roll out programme.

The stores have been designed to reflect international standards, emphasise hygiene and food safety, with ample storage capacity, parking space, security, convenience and ease of access as well as an appealing shopping environment.

“We would like get closer to the customer by bringing our services and products closer to them and the macro outlets provide a central point where they have access to a wider range of our products in one convenient location,” noted Mr Lupindula.
