We are pleased to announce that Zambeef was announced winner in three different categories during this year’s just ended 2011 National Dairy Herd Competition. Congratulations to Michael Hardcastle and the Kalundu Dairy Farm team. The prizes were announced on Saturday 8th of October at a prize giving ceremony for the 3rd Annual Dairy Herd Competition, hosted at the Robinson’s Kushiya Farm in Mazabuka.
Judging this year was carried out by an independent panel of Judges from South Africa and representatives from the Agricultural Ministry that visited several top rated and upcoming small and large dairy farms in the country over a period of 7 days.
During the competiton week Michael Hardcastle and the Kulundu Dairy Farm team were also asked by the Competition organisers to host a group of about 50 -60 small scale farmers with the judging team and representatives from Ministry of Agriculture on Tuesday 8th October. The objective of this was to show the small scale sector famers what these competitions are all about, and what the judges are looking for, with a longer term view of getting the small scale people involved in such competitions.
Let us all congratulate Michael and the team on this achievement .
Congratulations, Michael and Kalundu Dairy Team.
