The Zambeef Farming division, based at Huntley, Chiawa, and Mpongwe Farms, grows wheat, maize, and soya beans, crops that are essential for food security and the economy. These crops start the chain from farm to family, ensure a steady flow of essential grains to support Zambia's food needs, and help us to regularly supply maize to our stockfeed plant and external stakeholders such as the Food Reserve Agency. A good yield starts with careful planning. We continuously test and balance soil chemistry and correct its physical properties to ensure it supports strong crop growth. Proper irrigation, especially for wheat, is crucial, as it influences how well the plants use nutrients and how they deal with pests and diseases. In 2022, we announced a US$ 100 million expansion plan to double our crop production, which will enhance our stockfeed, meat production and processing facilities, and retail operations.

We are the largest animal feed producer in Zambia, and the only one with ISO 22000 food safety management system certification. Our offering includes a wide variety of scientifically formulated feeds and custom mixes, perfect for all types of animals, including pets. From whole carcasses to choice cuts, ground beef, lamb and goat, Zambeef has the perfect selection for every occasion. We offer four meat grades: commercial, standard, choice and super. The grading is determined by several key parameters, including the age of the animal, its dressed mass and the percentage of fat. Commercial beef is the least tender, while super is the most tender grade. From our hatchery to your coop. Zamhatch produces day-old chicks in state-of-the art hatcheries, offering high-quality chicks at prices that won’t ruffle your feathers. These chicks, along with quality feed and expert advice, are available at Novatek outlets and through Novatek agents. More than half of our fluffy little ones are sold to small-scale farmers and entrepreneurs, who serve the traditional live bird markets, making up approximately 75% of the mapped poultry market production.
